We go heads Up

Heads up play is about to kick off between Steven King and Michael Gailly.

Steven has the chip leader going into it with 8877000 to the 4197000 of Michael.

Blinds are now 50,000-100,000

3rd Place

We lose Paulo Dos Santos in 3rd place, he and Steven King tangle once more with Steven finally coming out the victor.

It's another time I see Steven picking up Aces, they go to a flop of 9h5d7c and Paulo is all in and quickly called by Steven, Paulo holds Jd9d and needed to get lucky once more which he couldn't do.

Turn pairs the board with a 5s leaving Paulo drawing to 2 outs.

River falls 3s to send him packing with a pay day of €34,190

Paulo receives a big cheer from his rail birds for his excellent performance today.

The sick double Up

Fist Pump Like a Champ
The aul 4 flush with the under pair. Paulo Dos Santos and Steven King get into a big of some pre flop raising and eventually both players are all in with Paul needing to flip good for his tournament life, 1.9 million.

Steven - AsKs

Paulo - 4h4c

We see Steven jump out in front when the flop is spread Ah3c10c and there is a sad look on Paulo's face as he sees this hand play out.

Turn - Jc and there is that "ooohhhhh" from the crowd as they see the turn card.

River - 4c and BOOM Paulo hits the miracle runner runner to scoop the double up and fistpumps with delight after he doubles up to 4 million.

Overwhelming Chipleader

Steven King
Steven King is sitting in an absolute dominating position at the moment with a stack of 9 million while the other two players Michael Gailly and Paulo Dos Santos both have around 1.9 million, must be abolute "misery" for the other lads.

4th Place

Jonathan Marmard finishes in 4th place - €24,700

5th Place

Jean Claude Marets finished in 5th place - €17,650

6th Place

Thibaut Richard finishes in 6th place - €11,230

7th Place

Claude Eddy Laure finished in 7th place - €7060

8th Place

Arnaud Gautier
We lose Arnaud Gautier in pretty dramatic and we hear cheers and rapturous eruptions from the rail.

Paulo Dos Santos & Arnaud are the ones tangling in the hand this time, we are on the flop and Arnaud tries  the aul bluff raise all in with no pair no draw. Paulo has lead at the flop for 125k and Arnaud comes over the top for 608k total and are dwelling with the decision it is met with a call from Paulo.

Paulo - Ad8d

Arnaud - Ks9c

Paulo is in great shape with top pair top kicker until Arnaud sucks out on the turn when a King comes down but that wasn't to be the end of the dramatics right there as we were just about to witness the resuckout from Paulo when the sweetest of sweet Ac hits him on the river.

There was a huge cheer from his friends in the rail.

Big Clash

Michael Gailly
Two big stacks at the feature have ended up going to war, must of been some crazy back and forth as TD JP McCann announces the hands.

We get a countdown of the stacks and Michael has 2.451 million in chips and Steven has him covered by about 1 million or so.

Michael Gailly - QQ

Steven King - Ac4c

In what has created and absolute monster of a pot of over 4.5million chips!

Flop - 4x6x10x small little bit of help for Steven but is still way behind.

Turn - 7

River  - 6

Michael has a pretty big smile on his face after winning that hand!

Breaking down to 1 Table

Play has broken down to 1 table as we have 7 players remaining at the moment and they have broken for a 20 minute break.

9th Place

Ivan Tononi
Ivan Tononi is our 9th place finisher are going out on a most brutal of hands, he was ruing his luck yesterday when he got KK in against 55 only for a 5 to pop up on the flop and said "I always run bad towards the end of these" after dropping as low as 60k he made a good comeback to make it to the final day's play.

I catch up with the action on a flop of 2x6x8x and Jean Claude Marets has led at the pot for 200k and Ivan comes over the top of him for 568k and gets the call.

Ivan - AA

Jean Claude - Js8s

Ivan looking in great shape for the double up when instantly the turn card is dealt he falls behind in the hand when a Jd appears. Now looking to either pair the board with one of the lower cards or hit his Ace to try and hang in.

A meaningless 7 on the river and Ivan has once more been on the receiving end of a horrible suckout.

Ivan walks away with €5240 but I am sure he would of loved to have gotten his hands on the 70k up top.

10th Place

Julien Calamote
We lose Julien Calamote in 10th place when he is all in for a little over 350k on the flop against Michael Gailly

Julien - Qd7d

Michael - Ad10d

Flop of 3h3dKd pretty sick flop for both players but flush draw against the 2nd nut flush draw, Julien is drawing a little on the thin side.

Turn - 3s

River - 4d to complete the flush for both.

Julien exits in 10th place and will take home €5240 for his efforts.

We are Back

11 players remaining.

Blinds now 12,000-24,000-3000

11th Place

Samuel Bailleux - 11th
Samuel Bailleux has met an end at the hands of Steven King once more to add to his victim tally count, Steven is ahead once again while he holds 77 against the AsQs of Samuel.

The dealer rolls out a flop of 2c4d9h it goes from a flip to back in the favour of Steven when a Kd is dealt on the turn its left up to the river sweat.

Jd on the river which means Steven has claimed quick successive knocks out to bring us a few steps closer to our final table and add to his massive stack already.

Last Remaining Irish Player has just been Eliminated

Steven King
Sole surviving Irish player in the field Eoin Starr has been eliminated from the Main Event at the hands of Steven King was just one of those cooler hands.

He finishes the event in 12th place.

All of the chips end up win the middle with Eoin holding AsKs vs the AdAh of Steven, they are pretty close in chips with Eoin having about 1.2 million and 1.7 million respectively.

We got to the flop and a 7c2d9c is spreadout by the dealer, a Jd hits on the turn and Eoin knows its all over and gets up from his seat to shake the hand of Steven as he is going this an inconsequential Qs peels off on the river.

Steven is close to 3 million in chips.

Eoin Starr

Break Time

Players are going on the first of their 15 minute breaks and in the meantime the 500 chips will be raced out of play.

Prizepool for the remaining Players

1 €70800

2 €46500

3 €34190

4 €24700

5 €17650

6  €11230

7th-8th €7060

9th-10th €5240

11th-12th €4170

Feature Table Exit

Busy Busy Busy in the room with action being called out from the TD over the mic, I get the hand details called out over the mic, "all in and a call on the feature table table"

We now lose Jamel Kechroud off the feature table when his KQ off is no good against the AA of Michael Gailly, flop of 2cX4c Jamel is in bad shape but picks up a little life on the turn when he hits the Kc on the turn but a river 8h is no good for him and that brings down to 12 players and 2 tables.

Jamel picks up 13th place prize of €3210

Another one bites the Dust

We lose Charles Ferrieres in 14th for a payday of €3210 when he jams the river for 200k with 99 trying to find a fold from Jean Claude Marets who holds A9 on an Ace high board.

Jean Claude playing the big stack doesn't have much hesitation in making the call to elimate the shorter stack.

Elimnations so Far

15th - Yann Len Nir - €3210

16th - Patrick Nicolai Kaltrud - €2570

17th - Thibault Delaye - €2570

18th - Robert Castant - €2570

19th - Romain Theault - €2090

20th - Thomas Pruvot - €2090

Getting Pricy

Blinds going up again 10,000-20,000-2500 running ante.

500 Chips Left

Romain Theault Eliminated
We see a flurry of action on the table of Romain Theault and Charles Ferrieres

Charles moves all in pre flop for 180,500 and Romain makes the call and after a count down he is left with 1 500 chip.

Charles - JsJc

Romain - AsKc

Flop of  7d3sQd is of little help to Romain but he makes to pick up and extra two outs on the turn when it comes 10s, Charles now sweating a nice double up just has to fade the river card which is does and is visually relived to stay in the tournament when a 2s pops off on.

Romain is now crippled and is all in for the next few hands which he manages to double up and triple up a few times more but is still far away from being out of a danger, he is eventually eliminated when he is all in with 5s7d vs Kc7c the board runs out Jh6sdAc9s

All in on the Flop

Thomas Pruvot
Action was a little fast and furious with all in's and calls from two different tables, I catch the action over on the table of Thomas Pruvot and Jonathon Marmard.

On a Queen high flop all the chips of both players find their way into the pot with Thomas Pruvot holding QdJs vs KhQh of Jonathon

Thomas leaves the tournament in 20th place.

3 Tables

We break down to 3 tables as we lose two players in quick succession. Hand details coming up in a few minutes.

Off we Go

Shuffle up and deal...

Play has started for today blinds will be kicking off at 8000-16000-2000 running ante.

Best of luck to all remaining players today.

Well folks thats if finished for another evening we have 20 players remaining in the field and they will be returning tomorrow at 1pm for the final days play were one of those 20 will be crowned champion and be handed a cheque worth €70,000

It's been a good day's action for the blog and some good viewing over on the live stream, hope you have enjoyed all of the coverage.

We have Steven King coming back tomorrow to lead the pack with a stack of 1,532,500 and close on his heels is Jean Claude Maret, in a brief chat with Steven he said that on Day 1a he was eliminated by Jean Claude so maybe now its time for a little payback.

Just heard a little info regarding this event from last year at the same stage in play there was 19 players returning for the final days play so pretty close to the same this year.

Congratulations to all of those who have made it this far and well done to those that had made it into the money.

Will have chip counts for all remaining players in the morning. Play will resume from 1pm tomorrow so please do tune into our coverage as we bring you's closer to crowning the 2011 D4 Events Winamax Short Handed Event Champion.

And Finished

Play has stopped for the night, quick wrap up coming up in a few minutes.

Grinding it back Up

Ivan Tononi had taken a big step back awhile ago but seems to be back on track at the moment and is back up to a stack of about 500k after dropping as low as 60k

Nearly There

We have about 20 minutes or so left in this level and then play will be wrapping up for the night and we currently still have 23 players remaining.

4 more hands has been called by the TD

Blinds Up

WE now enter the 6000-12000-1500 level with 26 players remaining.

Chip Race

Break time coming up a 15 minute break while the 100 chips are raced out of play.

Tournament Update

We currently have 31 players remaining in contention for this year's title as D4 Events Winamax Short Handed Event Champion 2011

One time chip leader busto

Our one time chip leader today Daragh Davey has unfortunately busted the event about 10 minutes ago, after trying to grind out a stack the last while he is on around 12 bigs when he gets his chips in the middle with KQ and gets called by KJ and is looking in great shape for a greatly needed double up.

But it's not to be on this occasion as his opponent rivers him for a straight.

Don't celebrate too Early

Matthieu Lamagnere
Matthieu Lamagnere hits the miracle river card to stop the premature celebrations from Romain Theault, all the money goes in on the turn for over 400k on a board that reads 8s7c4c6c

Romain - 87

Matthieu - KK

Romain is having himself a little jig thinking he has the hand locked up and is thinking about all those chips when the Ks pops up on the river and he sees the chips being slid the other way.

Up Up Up

Level 21 now and we get an increase in the blinds of 5000-10000-1200

Can't bare to Watch

And rightly so as Ivan Tononi loses a pretty sick pot worth over 300k when he opens the button to 16k and the BB of Arnaud Gauthier shoves for 175k total.

Ivan instantly calls and tabes KdKh and Arnaud tables 5d5h

Ivan seems to get one of those feelings that you just get sometimes as a player that you just know something bad is about to happen, so with that in mind Ivan takes a stroll away from the table.

He would be right in this instance as a horrible 5 pops up.

Flop Qd5cJh he picks up an extra out on the turn when an Ace hits but Ivan bricks the river of 8d and was left with only around 60k
